New expert commentary

In his contribution to our expert commentary page, Professor Michael Scharf of Case Western Reserve University School of Law argues in his submission, “No Chaos in This Courtroom” that so far the trial of Charles Taylor demonstrates that the Special Court for Sierra Leone has learned from other high-profile war crimes cases. He argues that Taylor is receiving a vigorous defense within the ground rules of the court, and that the proceedings are setting a good precedent for future trials.
